i have been thinking about this proposal and i have come to the conclusion that a separate company for the SAP team may not be feasible. i GUESS we can only use this idea in case LT management gives up on the IST concept altogether. As a last resort, we can sell the idea to LT management that they can either operate the minimum SAP team needed by LT or at best a full SAP team that can also sell SAP services outside the LT organization.

I think i have come to my senses and realized that the fears we have re: the future of IST is born out of our lack of information on what is really happening in the higher realms of TOP Management Strategic and Policy decision making. Regardless of IST top management decisions on individuals like me, their efforts will always be for the good of IST and LT. Ultimately, LT top management will make their decisions on IST based on the bottom line...Is it giving value for value? I only hope that, the decision will dovetail with the interests of the employees. In case it does not...then let us accept without objection since it is their money after all.

I hope we will not discuss these things outside the group since it may affect the morale of the other IST employees. Also, keep in mind that this idea is a sort of last resort concept and finally, that this concept should not in any way affect our morale and the way we work in IST.
